2020 NEAFA Scholarship Recipients Announced
Erin Armitage, Greenwich, NY
Agriculture is my passion. Whether I am showing dairy cattle, advocating to lawmakers, or informing the public, I truly enjoy every aspect that agriculture has to offer. I strongly believe that agriculture will play an even stronger role in the future. My goal is to study agribusiness. I have applied to Virginia Tech, Cornell University, Ohio State, and SUNY Morrisville. I look forward to my future career strengthening the future of Northeast agriculture. Chelsie Fuller, Newark Valley
I have chosen to pursue a degree in Ag Education because I enjoy teaching and advocating about agriculture. My experience in Junior Dairy Leaders, FFA, and Dairy Promotion have only served to strengthen my commitment to "agvocating." I have applied to attend SUNY Delhi or SUNY Cobleskill, with my ultimate goal to become a fully certified teacher in high school agriculture. Hannah Laine Koval, Stillwater, NY
Growing up on a dairy farm in Saratoga County, I have always loved being a part of the agricultural industry. Whether it was showing cows at the fair, helping my parents at the barn or being a part of my local 4-H or FFA programs, since I was little, my life truly has revolved around being a part of agriculture. I have applied to Cornell University, the Pennsylvania State University, SUNY Morrisville, and SUNY Cobleskill to study Agri-Business Management. Rachel Van Buren, Glenfield, NY
I have been fortunate enough to grow up on a beef and dairy farm. My family’s farm has played an essential role in developing my interest in Animal Science. At a young age, I found a passion for dairy cattle, especially registered Holsteins. I have applied to Cornell University and SUNY Cobleskill to study Animal Science. |

the NEAFA will be awarding four $500 scholarships to eligible high school seniors planning
to pursue a field of study that will lead to a career in agriculture, with a specific emphasis on
animal science, agronomy, agriculture education or agribusiness. The future of agriculture is
dependent on our youth, as they will be tasked with some of the most difficult and most
