Memorial Gifts to the New York FFA
Over the years, many life long supporters of the NY FFA, have requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the FFA in memoriam. This can be a very challenging time, and we want you to know that we can assist in setting up these opportunities. Memorial gifts that have no earmark, are typically deposited to our Endowment Fund. Other gifts are earmarked for special projects at either the local or state level. If you would like to learn more about setting up a memorial fund, please contact Todd Lighthall at [email protected] or 315-346-1222. In addition to setting up special memorial pages, we will post active memorial links on this page.
Charlie Krause
Impact on Oswegatchie- from Todd Lighthall, Ex Dir.
Over the years I have had the privilege of hosting retired teachers of agriculture for visits to the Oswegatchie FFA Camp. Charlie was one of the many who always had the capacity to light up the room. I fondly remember his first visit back as a retired ag teacher. Both he and his beloved wife Dot were like kids coming back to summer camp, taking a long awaited dip in Long Pond in early September, hiking and touring the old stomping ground, and telling stories of his adventures as an FFA advisor at Oswegatchie. A story that sticks with me above all others was his work to develop a camp site at Trout Lake, a site that is still used to this day. Of course no trip would be complete without conversations around his addiction and love of making maple syrup, taking interest in our own adventure in that spring ritual. Rest in peace wise owl. Your impact and stories will endure in the minds of those who knew you as a friend, teacher, mentor, and family man. |
